Malaria is a serious and potentially life theratening disease, transmitted to humans through the bites of an infected female mosquito (Anopheles species).

Malaria is preventable and curable if diagnosed and treated promptly. Travellers are advised to follow an ‘ABCD’ approach to preventing malaria: Awareness, Bite avoidance, Chemoprophylaxis (malaria prevention tablets) where appropriate, and Diagnosis.

If you’re planning to travel outside the UK, you may need to take anti-malaria medicines and use repellents and nets to protect you against malaria found in other parts of the world.

At REMEDI HEALTH in Winchester we can prescribe and supply all you need to protect yourself against this important disease.
