Book a Men’s Health Consultation
We have many different services that support men’s health and the first step is to book a health consultation with one of our trained clinicians.
In this consultation, we will take a full health history and understand any concerns and risk to health. From here we will recommend any tests. We can usually do these within the same appointment or make a recommendation to come back.
To book your consultation, choose a date and time that suits you. If you prefer, this can be done remotely using video consultation.
Safe, private clinic
Our beautiful award-winning clinic is in the centre of Winchester and we look forward to welcoming you. Keeping you and others safe is our priority and so if you are unwell, please let us know in advance and we will make appropriate arrangements.
Your appointment will be with a trained clinician in one of our private consultation rooms at our clinic in Winchester, or remotely via video call. You can be assured that you will be listened to sensitively and any health concerns addressed.
We operate within a registered private pharmacy which means that, depending on the outcome of the consultation, we can discuss and provide any required treatments, tests or referrals as appropriate. You can also be assured that we work within a strict governance framework.
About this service
Our consultation will include a full medical history, review of any health issues and symptoms, and get a full understanding of what you require from your health check.
The consultation will also include measurements such as blood pressure, weight and height, and can include blood tests if appropriate.
We can review and investigate concerns about cardiovascular risk, cancers, erectile dysfunction, sexual health, gut health, mental health, skin issues, weight management, alcohol and smoking, and many more.

About the Men's Health Consultation
Our consultation takes approximately 45 minutes and will include taking a full medical and social history, some measurements and we will listen to any health concerns.
A health assessment is a preventative health check that uses medical and non-invasive tests to give a current health and wellbeing overview. Our trained clinicians carry out all our assessments and can discuss any specific health concerns you may have.
If needed, our team can also arrange NHS follow-up appointments or private GP referrals for further treatment or diagnostic tests, too.
Your physical, sexual, mental and emotional health can be discussed to enable a full 360 degree review of your health.
Whether you have any specific symptoms or concerns or want to prevent disease in the future, we will work with you to personalise the correct investigations and health plan.
In many instances we can perform blood tests and investigations within the same appointment or alternatively we can book you in for a future date.
This might be appropriate if, for example, a fasted blood test is needed first thing in the morning e.g. testosterone.
The most important behavioural risk factors of heart disease and stroke are unhealthy diet, physical inactivity, tobacco use and harmful use of alcohol.
Non-modifable risks also need to be considered, such as family history, age and ethnicity.
We will provide a cardiovascular risk assessment as part of your health check.

Bowel cancer and risk

If necessary and depending on results, a referral can be made to your GP or a specialist for further investigations or for ultrasound scan.
Erectile dysfunction, also known as impotence, is defined by difficulty getting and keeping an erection. It can be an embarrassing thing to talk about, but be assured that we will manage the conversation sensitively and discretely.
It’s been reported that more than half of men between the ages of 40 and 70 experience some form of ED.
There can be many causes of ED, and we can check testosterone levels, risk of diabetes and other markers to see if there is an underlying cause.
Depending on the outcome of the discussion and any investigations we can make onward referral to specialists or manage within the clinic, with medicines to support better sexual function.
Testosterone is a sex hormone made in the testicles and adrenal glands, which is important for sexual and reproductive development.
Testosterone helps maintain men’s:
- Bone density
- Fat distribution
- Muscle strength and mass
- Facial and body hair
- Red blood cell production
- Sex drive
- Sperm production
Men can have many signs and symptoms as they age. Some that might occur as a result of lower testosterone levels can include:
- Changes in sexual function. This might include reduced sexual desire, fewer spontaneous erections — such as during sleep — and infertility.
- Physical changes. Various physical changes are possible, including increased body fat, reduced muscle bulk and strength, and decreased bone density. Swollen or tender breasts (gynecomastia) and body hair loss are possible. You might have less energy than you used to.
- Emotional changes. Low testosterone can contribute to a decrease in motivation or self-confidence. You might feel sad or depressed, or have trouble concentrating or remembering things.
Some of these signs and symptoms can be caused by other factors, including medication side effects, obstructive sleep apnea, thyroid problems, diabetes and depression. It’s also possible that these conditions cause low testosterone levels, so treatment might result in increase of testosterone levels.
A blood test is used to diagnose a low testosterone level or rule out other issues.
We can test your total testosterone levels and free androgen index to determine whether you would benefit from testosterone replacement therapy.
We can refer you to our endocrinologist for further investigations and treatment if required.
More so, we can supply testosterone from our award-winning pharmacy.
Our sexual health plays an important role in our overall health. We can check for sexually transmitted infections and provide treatment if necessary.
Check our sexual health page for more information or discuss your requirements within the consultation.
