About this service

Having a genetic screen is an important step and can be especially helpful for those who have a history of a family condition and want to know their own risk of developing it. Alternatively, individuals who don’t know their family history, either because they are adopted or because the family information is not available, may want to be tested to understand risk and take preventative measures.

This process starts with a conversation to understand why a test is to be done and what the actions would be should a test return positive.

Many preventative actions can be taken, including being included in a more frequent disease screening programme.

Contact the clinic for more information or book an initial consultation with a clinician.

Can I get genetic testing on the NHS?
Speak to a GP if cancer or other conditions run in your family and you’re worried you may get it too.
They may refer you to a local genetics service for an NHS genetic test, which will tell you if you have inherited one of the cancer risk genes. This type of testing is known as predictive genetic testing.
If you wish to expedite this process or are performing the test for your own personal information then we can help.
