Nutritional Genetics

Just like you, your nutritional needs are unique. That’s why we offer a nutritional genetic test which allows you to personalise your nutritional requirements.

Our DNA test can indicate which supplements you need to take and takes the guess work out of popping vitamins.

Nutrient deficiency causes problems such as fatigue, slower brain function, reduced physical performance and premature ageing. We can also perform a nutrition profile blood test.

Book a Nutritional Genetics Test

A nutritional genetics test will consist of a consultation (up to 30 minutes) with a trained clinician to understand more about you – any signs, symptoms, your medical history, lifestyle and much more.

This will enable the clinician to help you choose the most appropriate testing option and provide a context for your results. A blood profile may also be offered if your symptoms indicate you may have a deficiency.

30 minute consultation £60
Test fee with report £130
Nutritional Therapist consultation (if required) £150

About this test

Many of us strive to make positive food choices in order to reach new levels of fitness, yet generalised dietary recommendations don’t seem to work for everyone. The answer lies in your DNA.

Research now shows that there is huge variation in the way that each of us metabolises nutrients, and that one size does not fit all in relation to dietary advice. Thanks to progressions in nutrigenetics (nutrition + genetics) science, each of us now have the opportunity to benefit from truly tailored nutrition.

This test only needs to be done once in your lifetime and is done by taking a saliva sample.

About the Nutritional Genetics Test

Your test is performed using a saliva swab in clinic after a consultation to better understand your health and needs.

We will send you your results and personal nutrition report 10-14 business days after your sample has been taken.

How does DNA affect our nutritional needs?

Our DNA can have a significant impact on the way our body uses nutrients, such as how these vitamins and minerals are absorbed, transported, activated, and eliminated from the body. By analysing specific genes associated with the metabolism of a range of nutrients, we can tell you what your unique vitamin and mineral needs are, and therefore any potential deficiencies you might have.

Our DNA Nutrition test analyses 28 of the most well researched genes relating to how we process and metabolise nutrients. These include the LCT and HLA genes, which can help us identify your tolerance of lactose and gluten, among other key reactions in the body.

Can we help you?

Our team are standing by to help you with any questions or queries that you may have. We can advise you on the best test, product or service for your requirements.
