The Test to Release for International Travel scheme is for people who must quarantine on arrival in England and wish to shorten their time in self-isolation. The scheme is NOT available to individuals who have visited or transited through countries on the travel ban list in the 10 days prior to their arrival.  

From 15th February, individuals travelling from these countries will need to quarantine in a hotel.

Under the Test to Release scheme you can choose to pay for a private COVID19 test to leave quarantine early. If the result is negative, you can stop self-isolating.

The earliest you can take the test is 5 FULL days after you arrive in the UK. If you do not want to opt into the Test to Release scheme, you will need to self-isolate until 10 full days from your arrival has passed. From 15th February there is also a requirement for all arrivals to be tested on days 2 and 8. This mandatory scheme is currently being run by the Government.

The COVID19 RT-PCR  test for Test to Release takes just a few minutes. Your test will be explained to you and your results returned the evening/night of the following day. We also offer a same day service for people needing to have quicker results

Swab test and laboratory result

The test requires a swab of your throat and nostrils and takes just a few minutes. The swab is then sent by courier to the laboratory. You will be sent an email report that you are released from quarantine.

Book a COVID19 Test-to-Release Test at REMEDI HEALTH

If you are returning from overseas then you must quarantine until 10 full days have passed drom arrival in the UK.  You can reduce this time and pay for a test 5 full days after your arrival. You cannot take part in the scheme if you have been in or transited through any country in the previous 10 days, that is on Government’s travel ban list.

To take part in the scheme you need to:

  • book a test with REMEDI HEALTH
  • we will send you a reference number by email once we have reviewed your eligibility
  • choose to opt into the scheme on the passenger locator form

You will be asked to enter details of your test in the passenger locator form – this includes our details together with the reference number we provide you by email following your booking; please wait for this number as it is not generated automatically. You must do this to take part in the scheme.

Ideally, you should book your test before you travel to England. This is so you can enter details of the test when you opt into the scheme on the passenger locator form.

If you decide to take part in the scheme after you have arrived in England, you will need to complete another passenger locator form.

An example of how to work out when to take the test:

If you arrive in the UK on Wednesday, Thursday will be your first full day of self-isolation. You can take a test no earlier than your 5th full day of self-isolation – Monday. Provided your test is done on the 5th day before our courier leaves at 3pm, your test result is expected on Tuesday. A fast same-day service is available so please call us to enquire.

You must continue to self-isolate while you await your test result. 

Individuals who have visited a country on the travel ban list must isolate for the full ten days in a Government appointed location.

You will need to book an individual test for each person opting into Test to Release, including children.

Booking a COVID19 RT-PCR test with REMEDI HEALTH is quick. Just pick a time and date that suits you. We will give you the information you require after booking. The testing process should last no more than 15 minutes.

Our standard next day service provides results the following day and is £195.00 (book online).

Our weekend and bank holiday service also provides results the following day and is £270.00 (contact us to book).

Our same day service provides results in a few hours and by 19:00. It is available for £325.00 (contact us to book).

COVID19 RT-PCR test: how it works

If you are looking to get a COVID19 PCR Test to Release in Hampshire then look no further than REMEDI HEALTH.

A simple swab test is all that’s required to diagnose active COVID19 infections, facilitating appropriate containment and reducing further spread of disease.

We provide healthcare professional swab testing in our clinic to ensure that the sample obtained is less likely to be returned as void. If you have symptoms then contact the clinic and we can arrange to come to your home if within the Hampshire locality.

We take care of specialised courier delivery to facilitate a rapid arrival at the laboratory. We know that reduing your time in quarantine will be important to you and so will send you your report/certificate by email as soon as we receive it.

Our testing service is used within the UK government’s national COVID-19 testing programme. The laboratory we use is responsible for up to 17% of the total tests carried out and is accepted by Public Health England.

To ensure we can use our specialised express courier service, please book an appointment before 3:00pm. If you require an out of hours test then please contact us directly. Now testing at weekends. Call if you need a Saturday or Sunday test. We can also provide a same day service (Monday to Saturday).

Test to Release scheme

Testing has become a vital part of the response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Test to Release scheme is not available to anyone who has been in or through any country that is subject to a travel ban in the 10 days before arrival in England. Individuals must isolate in a Government approved location.

How the scheme works

Anyone who arrives in England from outside the UK, Ireland, the Channel Islands or the Isle of Man, anot on the travel ban list, needs to self-isolate for 10 days.

Under the scheme you can choose to pay for a private COVID-19 test. If the result is negative, you can stop self-isolating.

You cannot take a test until you have been in England for 5 full days.

The scheme is voluntary and applies to those self-isolating in England only.

If you do not want to opt into the Test to Release scheme, you will need to self-isolate for 10 days.

How to take part in the scheme

To take part in the scheme you need to:

  • book a test with REMEDI HEALTH
  • we will provide you with a reference number
  • choose to opt into the scheme on the passenger locator form

You will be asked to enter details of your test in the passenger locator form. You must do this to take part in the scheme.

You may leave your house to travel directly to and from the testing site. You should follow safer travel guidance and avoid public transport if possible.

You may be fined if you do not self-isolate. The fine is £1,000 for the first time, up to £10,000 for further breaches

Each individual is solely responsible for checking and conforming with the requirements stipulated by the UK Government in their Test to Release scheme and for booking the test on the correct day and at the correct time

The Test to Release scheme is not available to anyone who has been in or through any country that is subject to a travel ban in the 10 days before arrival in England

If you arrive in England and have been somewhere that is subject to a travel ban during the last 10 days you must complete a passenger locator form and stay in a Government approved location; you may be fined and face prosecution if you do not comply. You will also be required to undertake mandatory testing on days 2 and 8.

Passengers are not able to use NHS testing facilities for test to release testing.

We will do everything to process your tests within the agreed service deadline however we cannot guarantee results will be received within the timeframe if there is an issue which is outside our control i.e. due to a failure by the laboratory or courier

If your test does not come back in the explained time then we will either fully refund the value of the test or repeat the test

Due to the sensitivity of these tests, there is a very small chance the test result could be inconclusive or unclear. This is because of a new or recent infection where virus concentrations are low. In this case, a refund cannot be given; the test may be repeated at additional cost

If your test result is void due to a laboratory or clinic error then a full refund will be provided, and you will be invited to book another test within the time frame to suit you. You will be required to pay for the retest

REMEDI HEALTH will not be held liable for losses, costs, damage that you suffer or incur as a result of any delays in receiving test results or as a result of inconclusive or unclear or void test results

REMEDI HEALTH will also not be liable to you for any losses, costs or damages that you suffer or incur as a result of receiving a positive rest result

Service is subject to lab capacity and stock availability

Do not use our testing facilities if you suspect you have COVID-19 symptoms

In the event of a cancellation up to 24 hours before the test, we will refund the fee paid less an adminstration fee of £20.00. We are always happy to rebook without charge a test where a change has to be made becuase travel plans have changed. In the event of a no-show or a cancellation less than 24 hours before the appointment then there will be no refund.
