Blood Testing Services
REMEDI HEALTH offers phlebotomy and a comprehensive blood testing service.
We will take time to understand what test you require based on your health questions. Working with our laboratories, we ensure you receive a fast result and will help you understand what the results mean. Where necessary we will make a recommendation on what to do next.
You may know exactly which blood test you require, e.g. you have been asked by your doctor to have a blood profile done or know that you want to look at specific markers such as your cholesterol and lipid profile.
Alternatively we can offer a phlebotomy service only, where we take your blood for your own blood test based on a lab of your choice. We can centrifuge blood tubes which is especially relevant for samples that are more unstable or for nutriti0nal evaluation.

Book your blood test in Winchester
Your consultation will assess your testing requirements to ensure that the right test is ordered for you. This will include a full history taking and understanding of your needs. Before taking the blood, we will confirm the fee for the laboratory test. The balance is paid when you are in clinic. We allow 30 minutes for the consultation so that we can take the blood in the same appointment if required. In some instances, such as our full health screen, a further 15 minutes is required to undertake a more detailed physical examination.
If you bring a test with you that you have already been provided with, our phlebotomy fee is £45. Centrifuging can be provided for an additional £40.

Your Appointment
When you book a blood test with REMEDI HEALTH you can be confident that your blood sample will be taken by a trained health professional in one of our clinic rooms. We operate strict infection protection and control procedures and take great care to ensure that you have an excellent experience. We specialise in supporting individuals who are nervous about having blood taken and/or have tricky veins to find. We can also take blood from children – please call the clinic to discuss beforehand. We support the use of an anaesthetic cream if anxiety is a concern but this must be put onto the sites for venepuncture an hour ahead of the appointment.
Please do not take medicines containing biotin (in some supplements) for at least 24 hours before your appointment as this can interfere with results. Do check with us if you think your test should be done fasted and at a specific time of day.
Once we have agreed which test(s) you are to have then we take care of the whole process. Your results will normally be available within 24 hours and we will send your report by email. The more comprehensive blood screens may take longer – you will be advised during your consultation.
If you have your own test, either purchased by yourself or provided to you by another health organisation or occupational health, we will give you the blood samples required at the end of your appointment. You can then take or send them to the service you have engaged with. In many cases, these tests are returned to the lab by post.
Test Results Review
If you have asked us to provide a blood test for you, you can book a follow-up health consultation (£30-£60), either in the clinic or remotely over the phone or an online video consultation, to discuss what the results mean for you.
What test?
There are many different tests that can be performed. It may be that you have a very specific requirement, e.g. bloods before drug treatment, or hormone review, however for many a blood test will be for an annual review to check overall health or to investigate a specific concern. Our laboratories offer a large range of profile and individual tests. Some of the many examples are below:
Clinical biomarkers – includes full blood count, liver and kidney health, cholesterol and triglycerides, diabetes health and bone health. We can extend this to cover iron status, infection (CRP), muscle and joint health and urinalysis
Lipids and HbA1c – includes full blood count, heart and diabetes health
Advanced GP2 – this comprehensive test checks for a wide range of biomarkers including heart, diabetes and kidney health, nutritional health, iron status, infection (CRP) and metabolic syndrome
Advanced GP3 – our broadest test is as above plus a wider range of infection and inflammation biomarkers, male and female hormone health, allergy evaluation plus muscle and joint health
Tired all the Time – this comprehensive test checks for the common causes of fatigue including nutritional deficiencies and thyroid function
Nutritional and Digestive Health – this test checks for iron status, nutritional health, digestive health, and heart and diabetes health
Bespoke testing can also be arranged and we can give you a quote for different biomarkers on request.
